Brian Recker
coach, heretic, seeker, speaker
Many people, especially those with a background in high-control religion, struggle to trust themselves or listen to their inner knowing. Many people who outsource their autonomy and sense of self to an institution or religious authority find that even after they leave, they struggle to know who they are and find it difficult to set boundaries. Even with new beliefs, it can be difficult to excise the intrusive voices that tell you that your instincts are wrong, that you’re bad, or that you are going to suffer for departing from the way you were raised. I want to help you move forward in your life with a confidence that may have been robbed from you by voices that told you that you could not trust yourself. I want to walk with you as you learn to listen to your gut and to help you step joyfully into an exciting future of possibilities that you choose for yourself.

I would love to be a part of your story and help you dismantle the fears and false narratives that are keeping you from stepping into a life that fits who you actually are—instead of conforming to the expectations of others.
MY COACHING METHOD
-
listen
It all starts by learning how to listen to yourself. The answers we need for a life that feels whole are already inside of us—we only need to learn to trust ourselves (something that may have been robbed from us in high control environments).
-
align
Next, we will work to align your life with what makes us feel truly whole. This is a way of creating integrity that will include setting boundaries, overcoming mental obstacles, and continuing to choose ourselves.
-
continued curiosity
We never arrive. We keep asking questions, keep listening to others and to ourselves with curiosity (which keeps us from becoming judgmental), and remain open to new discoveries, passions, and growth.
